Frankly, something in the doula training industry has been broken for centuries. If the current model of surface-level weekend trainings was working, maternal healthcare wouldn't be tanking like we're back in the Twilight Sleep era.

What we need are doulas who know how to support families in real moments, communicate clearly, and hold their ground when it really matters.

That’s what your doula training should do. Not hand you a measly certificate of “completion” over a weekend crash course. Not leave you piece-mealing your support together at 6am when the resident OB is cranking up Pitocin on your client because they’ve got a golf tee time in 45 minutes.
